Our
Story
John and Dana met in 1995 when John was recruited to come to Namibia to coach gymnastics. They met on a weekend gymnastics trip to Spitzkoppe, featured on our home page. They fell in love hiking, telling riddles to each other and scanning the sky for shooting stars.
They travelled together in England, America and all over southern Africa. Eventually Dana joined her father's safari company, Ondjamba Safaris, where she is now a manager. John, a writer by nature and training, started Leisure Times Magazine, a tourism guide for Namibia, before they decided to move back to the States for their children's education.
John and Dana are now back in Namibia permanently, and after studying some coding and how to use AI, they decided to fill a much needed niche in Namibian tourism, a pricing system developed to simpify the crazy rates, various seasons and "unique eccentricites" of the lodges in the region.
They now have every lodge they could find in Namibia, vehicle rentals, activities, levies, permits and all the rest in their comprehensive program, SafarQuote. As they launch this new product, they continue to expand SafariQuote's reach through relationships in Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and beyond!
